Top 10 Tuesday is hosted by the lovely people at The Broke and The Bookish.

This week, we are talking about the books that came out in 2015. And there were A LOT of amazing books that came out this year. While I think I did a pretty good job of reading 2015 releases *blushes smugly*, I know that there are also a lot I didn’t get to, and hope that I read in 2016.

1. The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows

18081228

Jodi is the sweetest person on Twitter, and I’m really looking forward to reading her book!

2. The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly

17185496

Becky Albertalli, one of my author friends, has such good things to say about this book, so I can’t wait to read it!

3. Bone Gap by Laura Ruby

18806240

Cait from Paper Fury (whose blog is basically the best thing ever) listed this book as one of her favorite books of 2015, which means I NEED to read it.

4. The Winner’s Crime by Marie Rutkoski

20443207

I want to read this book before the third and final one, The Winner’s Kiss, comes out, so hopefully I get to it soon!

5. Ice Like Fire by Sara Raasch

17404295

I really enjoyed the first book in this trilogy, and while I have heard some mixed things about this book, I’m excited to see what I think about it!

6. Through The Dark by Alexandra Bracken

25453426

Alex is one of my favorite authors ever, and I’m really looking forward to reading her collection of novellas that go along with the Darkest Minds trilogy.

7. A Thousand Nights by E. K. Johnston

21524446

I really wanted to read this book in 2015, but didn’t get to it, so I must read it in 2016! I really enjoyed another A Thousand and One Nights retelling, The Wrath and the Dawn, and so I’m excited to see what I think about this one. Plus, I’ve heard a lot of mixed things, so I’m interested to come up with my own opinion on it.

8. Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs

24120519

I’ve read the first two books in this trilogy and enjoyed them, and am excited to see how it concludes!

9. Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin

24807186

I’ve heard great things about this book, and am excited to see how I like it!

10. A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis

24376529

This book sounds so good! I can’t wait to read it (hopefully soon!!)

So there you have it! Those are 10 books I really want to get to in 2016, that came out in 2015.

What books came out in 2015 that you didn’t get the chance to read, and are planning to read in 2016? Are any of them the same as mine?

Thanks for reading!

Ava

  1. YOU MUST READ THE ORPHAN QUEEN! The only other books that I’ve read on your list are Wolf by Wolf and A Thousand Nights, so it looks like we both have some reading to do! I hope you love them all when you get a chance to read them!

  2. I want to read Bone Gap too! I can’t remember every book, but I decided to read backlisted titles too. So, I have tons of books to read.

  3. I’ve only started seriously reading last year, so I may or may not have started a LOT of series in hopes of catching up to new ones (and there are TONS). I may or may not have failed.

Saying that, I haven’t read ANY of the books listed in here, but I’ve heard of few of them (i.e. Wolf by Wolf, books by Ransom Riggs, The Winner’s Trilogy), and I am excited to get my hands on a copy and read! (Must finish the series I started last year first, though.)

    Great list!

  4. I also wanted to read Library of Souls, but put it off, because Hollow City lost me. I think because so much time passed since Miss Peregrine, that I forgot some of the plot points. Maybe I need to reread Hollow City before I began Library.

  5. So many books, so little time! I wanted to get The Orphan Queen and A Thousand Nights too! And Carry One by Rainbow Rowell, I didn’t have the time to read that one either ♥

  6. I do have a desperate need to read ‘A Madness so Discreet!’ Completely forgot to put it on my list, though. D’oh! Another must-read is ‘Library of Souls’ BUT I actually still need to read ‘Miss Peregrine’s’ first XD It’s on my list to read over the next couple of months 😉

  7. I love the Ransom Riggs books about the peculiar children. I’ve only read the first book so far but want to read the other 2 books asap. He has a clever idea of using old photos in the story. excited about the movie coming out too! 🙂
