Top Ten Tuesday: Top 10 Things Books Have Made Me Want To Do

Top 10 Tuesday is hosted by the lovely people at The Broke and The Bookish. 

This week’s topic was top 10 things books have made me want to do, and when I read that, I knew I HAD to participate. Books have changed my life in so many ways, and one of them is they’ve made me want to do ALL THE THINGS.

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins made me want to return to Paris even more than I already did and study abroad. Think of how cool that would be!

Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins and You Know Me Well by David Levithan and Nina LaCour made me want to explore San Francisco. I live about two hours away, but barely know the city!

Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli made me want to eat buckets and buckets of Oreos. Seriously. You CANNOT read this book without Oreos on hand.

I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson made me want to paint. I used to paint a LOT when I was really young, but I just…stopped. And that book made me want to paint and paint and paint and really, just to be as creative as Jude and Noah are.

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller made me want to visit Greece.The descriptions of the country in that book are so vivid and gorgeous, and YES, I know that it has obviously  changed since that time, it still sounds amazing.

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson made me want to walk dogs for a summer job. That would be so fun! Plus, if a boy like Clarke was one of the dog owners…

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han made me want to bake. I love baking! But I never, ever do it. I don’t get WHY I don’t do it more often! I mean, come on. You get to eat it at the end!

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater made me want to discover Welsh kings and search for ley lines and make friends with Aglionby boys. Okay, I KNOW that this one is a *little* far-fetched, but I can’t control my longing.

The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner made me want to go after what I believe in and pursue my dreams. Lydia, one of the main characters, is a blogger, and she becomes famous and makes connections and goes to college to prepare for a career that blogging helped her get to. Sound familiar? Lydia is fashion blogger, while I am a book blogger, but still. I loved her.

Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson made me want to go on a road trip across the US- and listen to some pretty great music while at it. Amy and Roger’s trip looked so so fun, and I want to experience that for myself one day.

Under the Lights by Dahlia Adler made me want to find a romance as beautiful as that one.

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab made me want to visit London. If I can’t visit multiple versions of London like in the book, I guess I’ll settle for the one we have.

Queen of Shadows and A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas made me want to find a group of friends as bad*** and amazing and unique as Aelin and Feyre’s. They make each other stronger. THAT is what I want. (And having Rowan or Rhysand wouldn’t be too bad. Just saying.)

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor made me want to visit Prague. And if there weren’t any angels there, I guess I could explore the beautiful city.
