Top 10 Tuesday: Top 10 Quotes I Loved From Books I Read In The Past Year Or So

Top 10 Tuesday is hosted by the lovely people over at The Broke and The Bookish

This week we are talking about our favorite quotes from books we read in the past year-which means no Harry Potter for me. I love quotes in books SO MUCH, and if this list could’ve been a thousand miles long if I put all of them. And if I could have, all of these quotes would have been from Six of Crows or Queen of Shadows, but I didn’t want to bore you. So, in no particular order, here are some of my favorite quotes.

  1. “Many boys will bring you flowers. But someday you’ll meet a boy who will learn your favorite flower, your favorite song, your favorite sweet. And even if he is too poor to give you any of them, it won’t matter because he will have taken the time to know you as no one else does. Only that boy earns your heart.”
    Leigh Bardugo, Six of Crows
  2. “She was the heir of ash and fire, and she would bow to no one.”
Sarah J. Maas, Heir of Fire
  3. “She looked at them, at the three males who meant everything—more than everything. Then she smiled with every last shred of courage, of desperation, of hope for the glimmer of that glorious future. “Let’s go rattle the stars.”
Sarah J. Maas, Queen of Shadows
  4. “She dreamed of deep soul connections and passionate kisses and daring escapades. She was certain that he simply had to meet her, just once, and he would feel the same way. It would be like those epic love affairs that exploded into existence and burned white hot for all eternity. The type of love that time and distance and even death couldn’t separate.”
    Marissa Meyer, Cress
  5. “I’ve been waiting for you a long time, Alina” He said. “You and I are going to change the world.”
    Leigh Bardugo, Shadow and Bone
  6. “When people say impossible, they usually mean improbable.”
    Leigh Bardugo, Siege and Storm
  7. Na razrusha’ya. I am not ruined. E’ya razrushost. I am ruination.”
    Leigh Bardugo, Ruin and Rising
  8. “Once upon a time, a girl had a father, a prince, a society of friends. Then they betrayed her, so she destroyed them all.”
    Marie Lu, The Rose Society
  9. “Let’s carpe the hell out of this diem.”
    Alexandra Bracken, The Darkest Minds
  10. “I’m not going to die,” she said. “Not till I’ve seen it.”
    “Seen what?”
    Her smile widened. “Everything.”
V.E. Schwab, A Darker Shade of Magic
  11. “I’d rather die on an adventure than live standing still.”
V.E. Schwab, A Darker Shade of Magic
  12. “Plenty of humans were monstrous, and plenty of monsters knew how to play at being human.”
    Victoria Schwab, Vicious
  13. “Meeting your soul mate is like walking into a house you’ve been in before – you will recognize the furniture, the pictures on the wall, the books on the shelves, the contents of drawers: You could find your way around in the dark if you had to.”
Jandy Nelson, I’ll Give You the Sun
  14. “I gave up practically the whole world for you,” I tell him, walking through the front door of my own love story. “The sun, stars, ocean, trees, everything, I gave it all up for you.”
Jandy Nelson, I’ll Give You the Sun
  15. “Why is straight the default? Everyone should have to declare one way or another, and it shouldn’t be this big awkward thing whether you’re straight, gay, bi, or whatever. I’m just saying.”
Becky Albertalli, Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda

Okay… That was more than 10. I have so many favorite quotes that I coudnt put in here, but soon Im going to do a favorite quotes post, and have a LOT more than 10.

What are some of your favorite quotes? Comment them! Are any of yours the same as mine?
